Membership

Membership is open to both men and women aged 18 years and over.  Potential members are invited to come along to one of the Club’s training sessions and ‘try us out’.  A free trial of up to 4 swims at no obligation is offered before deciding whether or not to join.  If you decide to join the Club, you’ll be given an instruction sheet on how to become a member, which involves completing an on-line membership form and paying the membership fee by credit card.  You’ll then be registered as a Masters Swimmer and Club member and receive a welcome email and an information pack.

Current members

The Club’s membership in most years is generally around 30-40, comprising men and women aged from their twenties to their seventies, with a wide range of swimming ability and fitness levels.  There are people from advanced beginner level to State champion level; and those interested in just activity and fitness as well as those keen on competition.

Membership fee

The annual fee for the 2021 calendar year is $200.  The fee is charged to both renewing and new members alike – there is no ‘joining fee’.  A discount is offered to new members joining during the last 6 months of the year and if joining from September, there is the option to join for 16 months f(ie to the end of the following year) for a discounted fee.

The annual fee is reviewed and set for the following calendar year at the Club’s Annual General Meeting in December.  The fee covers:

  • Registration with Masters Swimming WA and Masters Swimming Australia which provides personal injury insurance and other benefits; and
  • Club administrative expenses such as lane hire, equipment and coaching.

The membership fee does not cover the pool entry fee on each visit – these fees are the responsibility of individual members.  Multi-pass entry discount cards are available on enquiry at the Leisureplex reception counter.

Members are invited in December each year to renew their membership for the following year.
